What changed in our families
Healthier eating habits
Children became more willing to try new foods and significantly reduced sugary snack consumption after the classes.
More time cooking together
Spring families went from cooking together 1–2 times a week to 3–4 times — and kids started asking to help in the kitchen.
Cultural reconnection
Families reported deeper knowledge of and connection to Indigenous foods and recipes — especially children, who grew curious about their culinary heritage.
In their own words
My child was excited to cook what we prepared in the workshop the same day. She was praised by all family members and this has encouraged her tremendously.
